BLACK DRUM

Our fishing charters depart from the Cape Charles area in Virginia (Call ahead for reservations). Season (April 25th - May25th). We head to a large variety of the most productive fishing spots located near the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. Our Charter Boat gets you there fast as we head to where the fish are biting. The captain is a native of this area (his ancestors first moved to Cape Charles in 1630) and he knows where to go and has fished here on the Eastern Shore of Virginia since 1973. He has worked as a captain and a commercial fisherman in this area since 1984. You don't have to be an expert to catch drum fish while on our charters, we will bait your hooks and do what it takes to put you on the best spot where the fish are biting while you are here.

Black Drum are strong fighters and many salt water angler's that fish with us each season remember this great experience. Black Drum reach sizes over 100 pounds and most specimens we catch weigh 40 to 80 pounds, although larger ones are not uncommon. The world record is 113 pounds. 1 ounce. We usually catch many drum citations each year.
